I

I miss you, Donald!

I called you “the Blowback President” because whatever you did, it seemed to blowback in ways that hurt the US of A and the policies and intents that had been nurtured by successive presidents since WWII.

Your failures were not really your own since they were really iterations of the past — but they were obvious and stupid. Reviled as a liar; you were simply not as good at managing deception as other Presidents such as Obama.

In fact, you weren’t good at much. But you were very, very WYSIWYG.

You did not “drain the Swamp”…

Fantasy Land

The New York Times would never publish someone like me.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some headline like the one above, given their penchant for accepting whatever stories “intelligence sources” (anonymous) tell them, despite actual facts screaming “Fiction, fiction”.

If you are like most people you probably check Google News for…ummm… “facts” about the world. The headlines which are neatly arranged in categories with the most important at the top, neatly curated. always including CNN, WaPo and the NYT since these “sources” are like the Bible once was, not to be questioned.

COVID is like the Kardashians. There are many of them. Each different. But each… a Kardashian.

Why oh why can we not have vaccines for the Kardashians? Then again, as in the case of COVID, vaccines won’t make the problem go awsay.

You see COVID19 is not just one virus: it is a whole bunch of sibling diseases, each awful in its own way — just like Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and the rest: they share similar genetics is all.

The“19” in COVID19 stands for 2019 — WHO nomenclature for a coronavirus that emerged in 2019 and was identified in Wuhan…

Ouch!

You really don’t want to get COVID. Even if you have no obvious symptoms, which is most people testing positive for COVID — that doesn’t mean you are safe. One test showed 65.2 % of asymptomatic males with lowered testosterone — which, besides, interfering with your sex life — not a big thing now that no one is doing hump-bump — may predispose you to other infections, since this also means lower immunity.

In addition, this lower testosterone may affect women too — who depend on this hormone for all sorts of stuff, which is why it is often prescribed…

FOF. Fear Of Fascism.

Many fear Japan re-militarizing.

Ex-Prime Minister Abe’s attempts to revise the “Peace Constitution”, Japanese support for American activities in the South China Sea, military moves by the Japanese to “protect” the Diaoyu Islands off Taiwan — and many other things like these worry a lot of people.

After all, Japan presently also has the world’s fourth or fifth most powerful military and could go nuclear in as little as 6 months, with existing rocket technologies providing intercontinental delivery capabilities.

As I have said, there is no way that the Japanese are going to let the Yakuza dominated right wing impose pre-war militarism on Japan.

At the end of World War II, Japan was poor. It had been totally destroyed. Its major cities had been leveled — and not just the cities — the social hierarchy.

The America occupiers were big, healthy — and rich.

The Japanese are known for copying ideas but they, like the Chinese, are not just copiers. …

F35 crash

The F35 is the greatest boondoggle in American history, as one writer says, “too expensive to use, too expensive to lose”. Over its lifespan, it will cost the American taxpayer $1.7 trillion. An f35B costs $138 million dollars and over $36,000 an hour to operate.

Intended to replace the F16, the F35 is slow, maneuvers sluggishly and cannot fire its new lightweight Gatling without destroying the housing and the airplane. It suffers from 13 “class one” defects that endanger both the aircraft and its crew. …

That’s a real question. And it could make 70% of Americans — the 70% that see Russia as a threat — as re-branded Nazis.

Let it be clearly understood that the Russian is a delightful person till he tucks in his shirt. As an Oriental he is charming. It is only when he insists upon being treated as the most easterly of western peoples instead of the most westerly of easterns that he becomes a racial anomaly extremely difficult to handle. The host never knows which side of his nature is going to turn up next”.

Japan’s COVID Crisis and Denial

Last year, Japan announced that it would begin vaccinations of key medical and governmental officials in late February . I predicted sometime in April. I was correct.

Japan is behind every other developed country in the world in responding to the pandemic, even trailing poorer, less developed countries such as Argentina, Belarus, and others. Despite Japan’s wealth and close partnership with the US, which you would think would offer some advantages, it is on roughly the same schedule as Cuba and Venezuela, whose efforts have been hurt by American and European sanctions.

As you remember from my article on the Year of the Cow, er, Ox…. , Deke knows about more than just cows — he know about all sorts of animals — horses, dogs, cats, apes, and people. He is known as Dr. Dog. But he really should be called Dr. Everything

I rely on Deke to tell help me when I am confused, which is most of the time. He, like, reads books. Y’know real books, on paper. The things people used to read before smartphones. He also knows a lot of BIG words, like…well…” ox”. …
