One Earth, Many Worlds*
World 1
We all live on one Earth. But this Earth has many worlds — which for most Americans and many in European countries and Japan — are nothing less than alternate universes, not even parallel. Science fiction, it seems, transcends reality!
In the hallucinatory dimension of what you might call “Earth 1”, an evil dictator, Vladimir Putin, the successor to Genghis Khan, Stalin, Hitler and all the others that our history teachers told us were genocidal maniacs, has chosen to invade a tiny democratic country called “Ukraine” to expand his murderous empire and eat babies. Why? Just because.
Evil men need no reason to kill or inflict pain.
We in the West are “good — also “just because” — and we must support the brave Ukrainians as they fight for the memory of their George Washington — Stepan Bandera — against the Russian horde. OK, OK… he was a mass murderer but how else do you make omelettes?
Broken eggs aside, Marvel and DC Comics tell us that USA and NATO stand for peace, freedom, the right of self-determination –and, of course, for democracy. Red, white and blue forever.
Oh wait! That’s also Russia’s flag!
My bad — the colors of the day are now blue and yellow. Blue for the right sock, yellow for the left.
Ukrainian Nazis are on our side.
They have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb — literally! — the blood of 14,000 innocents in Eastern Ukraine.
All that rape and murder? Hinted at by Amnesty et al. Vlad’ musta done it. ’Cause the Azovs ‘r US. US=Us, you and me. Also, the United States. Get it?
We are the Good [m1] Guys. We are all Azov.
Even Mark Hamill, who is Darth Vader’s son, says so. And he was Luke Skywalker. He did not turn to the Dark Side — the Force is now blue & yellow.
There is total agreement in World 1. Which doesn’t of course include Russia and China and the Global South since they really don’t exist. Kinda like homeless people or racism in the US. They are there but they are not.
Even though the body was found in a building just vacated by the Azovs, the Azov’s say the Russkies done it — and we have to believe it because … those Banderite guys with their tattoos and torture porn videos are our guys!
Stand and salute: “Oh saaaaaaaaaaaaay can ya’ see…” .
There’s all that Russian propaganda, of course. All Pravda. OK — so Pravda died with the USSR. Don’t bother me with details. The story is what matters.
We know somehow that Russian propaganda in the form of a few thousand dollars of ads on a Russian troll farm won Trump the election in 2016. So there was not real evidence, as the Mueller Report confirmed — that’s only because Vlad’ is sooooooo clever, so subtle.
In the case of Ukraine, read the NYT or WaPo or the Guardian Watch CNN or the BBC or CBC. They get their information directly from Kiev, curated by the CIA and MI6, who never lie, right? They always get it right. As they did with WMD.
Let me repeat: Putin, BAD. Nazis GOOD.
The Western media speaks with a single voice. You know that — because they repeat the same words and phrases. Like your catechism. You must be careful to use the right words. Or no communion for you. You won’t get to drink blood and have it turn to wine.
That’s World 1. A world of fictions.
World 2
World 2 is different. Reality intrudes painfully.
Here, the “West” consists of countries that industrialized in the 19th Century, and created social-political-economic empires, using the labor and resources of other countries — principally in South America, Africa and Asia — but also in what is now the United States of America, once a thin strip of colonies on the Eastern seaboard, with indigenous nations to the West.
Hitler did not invent genocide. He learned that from the US who knew that God trusted them to kill everybody else, or at least enslave them.
In World 1, God created the “West” which is also East, from George Washington’s rib.
In World 2, myth is qualified by historical fact. Western countries evolved from feudal hierarchies and tribal kingdoms to large-scale, mass agglomerative nations; then to whole groups of nations or blocs, substituting media eschatology for mythology, “education” for religious indoctrination and “high school social studies books” for scripture.
‘History” and political “science” are taught by a priesthood of mental eunuchs known as college professors. They comprise a pontifocracy — the pontificate. Kiss the ring and hope you don’t get monkeypox.
“Society” stands as a cultural citadel, towering above blackened fields of misery. The Middle Class has replaced knights and squires and merchants who once lorded over those who were bound to the land, which they did not own. “Freedom” is privilege. “Democracy” is power. And, as in the Middle Ages, those at the top of the tower own everything
The West consists of “inverted totalitarian societies”, designed for exploitation, both internally and externally, the wealth of these societies pirated from the rest of the world.
No one wants to think about this — which is why almost no knows the name of Sheldon Wolin — the guy who came up with the concept of inverted totalitarianism.
World 2 clashes with World 1. The War of the Worlds.
But World 2 is coming to an end.
World 3
World 2 is ever so 20th Century.
World 3 is 21st Century. Change had come quietly — but suddenly like nocturnal emission. Mommy and Daddy USA are upset but the offspring of their mindless fucking has reached adolescence.
Many non-Western societies — appropriately named “third world countries –have suffered cataclysmic events in the recent past. A kind of international child abuse.
Now, they have reached societal puberty and are growing fast. They are hair down there.
Principally, China and Russia, but also Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia and India. Each has its own historical environment and preferences and different challenges. Mommy and Daddy USA are not happy at all. Libya was ahead of the pack. So Mommy and Daddy made an example of it.
Russia has evolved from the USSR, which was an attempt to create a more egalitarian Eurasian society under Communism. China had moved on from Maoist Marxism to a Neo-Confucian society.
In the case of USSR, the federation had been successful in many respects. But that success led to a small but powerful and privileged middle class — such as existed in the “West’ — but which lacked the luxuries that Hollywood presented to the world as the fruits of “democracy” — and wanted them.
In a society that purports to be classless, a “middle class” is a contradiction: it cannot exist without inequality, which means exploitation by those above and of those below. The Russian Middle Class didn’t get that — because the USSR was not an imperialistic or colonialist society. When the US started grooming the Moscow Middle Class, it was ready to suck dick.
Stalin had had his gulags but he was just one guy: the US had its upper class, largely hereditary, a large incestuous group of people dedicated to the proposition that might makes right — but fearful of those just below them in the hierarchy. Stalin slapped his kids and sent them to bed without dinner. Mommy and Daddy US groomed them and fucked them — and bought their compliance with goodies.
Th elites of the US and Europe killed off millions to buy the stuff that would keep the kids in line — as many as 30 million people after WWII .
Are people really that naïve? Is this metaphor so far-fetched?
It’s partly human nature.
The Indians gave away Manhattan for shiny baubles from colonists — without realizing it — since they had no concept of land as property. Since the land obviously belonged to everyone, they thought they got the better part of the deal. The colonists sealed their part of that arrangement by massacring the Indians.
The Moscow Middle Class were like the Indians — also fascinated by the stuff offered by the West. When you were a teen, you really wanted a car, right. In Russia, they wanted one too — although they ended up selling their country for hamburgers.
Like the Indians, however, the Russians would soon be disabused of any notion of the magnanimity of their would-be overlords. But unlike the Indians, however, they could fight back — and they would have weapons.
In Russian history, there is always someone who steps forward.
The Russians of World 3 have Vladimir Putin — a principled man of proletarian origins, half Jewish, a person of many parts, multilingual, a KGB operative, lawyer, martial artist, historian and animal lover. As a polymath — he had a wider point of view and saw connections where others did not. The Moscow Middle Class at first thought him an “Atlanticist”. People like Putin are easy to misunderstand. He was not going to sell Russia to the West. He was a Russian nationalist and pragmatist.
He envisioned a different “multipolar” world with a new and better Russia just as Xi of China imagined a nation in which Confucian and Taoist principles could combine with Marxist idealism.
Putin made magnificent progress. People lived longer and better. Xi made China the first nation to rid itself of absolute poverty.
That “multipolar world” that both leaders hoped for was a kind of democracy of nations, in which each nation had a right to develop different according to its own culture. And no one nation could dominate or exploit another. There would be opportunity — but not predatory opportunism — everything guaranteed by international law agreed on and enforced by the majority of nations. Promises made would be promises kept. Each nation would be equal. There would be no exceptionalism.
World 3 therefore is BRI, the SCO, BRICS, and dedollarization. Inevitably, it is also the collapse of NATO, the EU, and the Anglosphere. The “Five Eyes” are blind anyway.
For World I and 2, these notions augur war. But WWIII began already around 2010. A different kind of war, as all world wars are. Since Russia and China had nuclear weapons, which ruled out their use, the US and its Empire sought to wage economic warfare — with sanctions. Military conflict was restricted to local proxy wars as in the Middle East and Ukraine and terrorism and subversion.
Mommy and Daddy forgot everything they learned in high school, not that they learned much and have to ask Junior how to use their smart phones or PC. The US that young or reborn countries are learners — and restrictions simply stimulate their creativity and innovation. Sanctions provided stimulus for both Russia and China to move towards economic and technological independence — fast.
By 2022, both Russia and China had developed military technologies with which the US could not compete. Their industrial bases were growing as that of the US, the UK and EU were declining.
Financial autarky would buffer them from the US-driven global recession on the horizon.
In this new world, World 3, David had his sling and with a steel ball bearing. Goliath has a hangover and the runs.
